Corporate Volunteerism Council of the Twin Cities (CVC-TC) Honors Ameriprise Financial and UnitedHealth Group at Annual Luncheon

The CVC-TC held its annual Awards Luncheon on May 3 at Pinstripes in Edina. In keeping with their mission, CVC-TC honored and recognized two outstanding member corporate volunteer programs that demonstrate leadership in anticipating and responding to the changing needs of the Twin Cities community. Ameriprise Financial was honored with the Community Partner Award for their 2011 Ameriprise Financial National Day of Service (NDS). Thousands of Ameriprise volunteers – advisors, employees, clients and prospective clients – came together to help solve hunger in their local communities in a partnership with Feeding America. The 2012 Employee Engagement Award went to UnitedHealth Group. UnitedHealth Group’s employee volunteer councils carry out employee volunteerism at a local level and are integral to UnitedHealth Group’s overall social responsibility efforts. Both Ameriprise Financial and UnitedHealth Group received a CVC-TC donation of $1,000 to their choice of charities. Ameriprise Financial chose Feeding America as their recipient and UnitedHealth Group chose the American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate.

The Award Luncheon’s Keynote:  Employee Engagement from Within featured Co-Founder and Senior Consultant of RealizedWorth, Chris Jarvis.  RealizedWorth is a leading employee volunteering and CSR consulting firm.  Their approach enables a sustainable program that equips employees to lead, influence and engage in a meaningful way.  Chris gave an engaging and inspiring presentation that far exceeded the audiences’ expectations.  Attendees connected so well with Chris’ “Tourist, Traveler, Guide” analogy of employee volunteering that many were using it in conversation after the luncheon.  Chris’ vision and practical strategies for corporate volunteering programs will certainly help CVC-TC members engage in good work in our communities.   You can find Chris’ take-out documents from his presentation by clicking here:
