The State Conference on Volunteerism is held only once every other year. And this year's 2004 Minnesota Conference on Volunteerism will be held May 16-18 in Brainerd, MN. If you lead and/or manage a volunteer program, you have an opportunity to join with other volunteer program professionals in a conference designed to prepare you for the challenges that lie ahead. Whether you are a seasoned volunteer leader or new to the profession, the workshops at this conference will help you professionally and personally.

This year’s conference features many conference tracks including a corporate focus highlighting the following workshops:

  • Building/Sustaining Corporate Volunteer Councils
  • Volunteer Programs in Corporations with Multiple Facilities
  • Leveraging Technology to Make Your Program Stronger
  • Be Safe, Not Sorry: Managing Risks of Corporate Volunteerism
  • CVC Corporate Volunteerism Idea Exchange

In addition to the many workshops, special programs & keynote speakers include:

  • Sunday, May 16th Pre-conference Workshop: The Leader in Each of Us
  • Sunday, May 16th: Susan Vass, Humorist & Motivational Speaker and Keynote Speaker Jim Scheibel, former mayor of St. Paul
  • Monday, May 17th: Linda Harper, Ph.D. “Give to Your Heart’s Content without Giving Yourself Away”
  • Monday, May 17th : Keynote Speaker Neil Cuthbert, McKnight Foundation
  • Tuesday , May 18th : Keynote Speaker Jon Pratt, Minnesota Council of Nonprofits
