Minnesota has the joy of giving during the holiday season!

The Twin Cities is routinely recognized as number one in rates of volunteering. We come together to help people in need, whether it’s monetary donations, gifts or our most precious commodity - time – every little bit matters. The Corporate Volunteerism Council – Twin Cities helps member companies, like Blue Cross Blue Shield Minnesota, build strong volunteering programs.

I am proud to be a Minnesotan, but I am even more proud to be part of a company that values volunteering and giving back to the community. In addition to average annual associate donations providing over $1 million dollars to local nonprofits and associate volunteer hours of over 17,000 hours, we also value the chance to make a difference during the holiday season.

In 2018, Blue Cross associates positively impacted hundreds of individuals across Minnesota – children, families and seniors - by partnering with 360 communities, and Neighbors Inc., providing gift cards for groceries, clothing items, toys, family household items and other gifts, and donating over 542 gifts to the  Salvation Army for boys and girls in Northern Minnesota. Our Minneapolis office added a personal touch by crafting225 handmade cards to brighten the holiday food shelf visit for seniors in Hennepin County at  East Side Neighborhood Services - Senior Food Shelf. We were so glad to bring comfort and joy during this holiday season!
