MythBusting: Behind the Scenes of a Corporate Volunteer Program

Presented June 3 at the MCN/Humphrey Institute Nonprofit Leadership Conference

Increasingly, businesses seek meaningful volunteer opportunities for their employees, and in many cases, corporate grantmaking is linked to volunteerism. While an influx of skilled and motivated employee volunteers can be an invaluable resource to nonprofit organizations, corporate volunteer managers recognize that designing that “perfect” volunteer opportunity that meets both the nonprofit and business needs can be challenging. This session provides a behind-the-scenes look at how corporate volunteer programs are structured, an overview of trends in workplace volunteerism and examples of successful volunteer partnerships.
