Connections and Cocktails
The Twin Cities’ well-deserved reputation for amazing civic engagement is due, in large part, to people just like you! The CSR professional dreams up new and exciting ways to engage your colleagues in serving the community in which we live and work. But sometimes, it’s not that easy. You have questions, you want to seek a peer’s expertise or you want to bounce an idea around for feedback, but where to start?
We have the session for you!
As CSR professionals, we are considered the ultimate connectors, but sometimes it is hard to break into a conversation in a room full of soon-to-be-BFFs. Let the CVC-TC Program Committee help you. We are hosting Connections & Cocktails on June 23 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Pinstripes in Edina. The first hour of the session will be focused on making these highly important connections through a speed-networking experience (think speed dating). The second hour will be social so that you can continue some of the fabulous conversations that you just started and build up your network!
To facilitate the speed-networking experience, we are asking all participants to complete the framework that was presented by Carl Atiya Swanson at the Weird Friends session held in April.
After registering for this event, please send an email to Tiffany.Calderon@BestBuy.com by June 15 with your responses to the following items:
- What skills do I have that I can share?
- What skills do I want to build?
- What is at least one thing I need help with today?
- What is your preferred mode of contact? (For example, include your email if you prefer a note be sent or your phone number if that is the best way to reach you.)
We will compile and share attendees’ answers to these questions before the event so that you can prep for meeting all of the fabulous people in the room. (Don’t worry if you don’t immediately identify a commonality with each attendee; this is still a great opportunity to learn about each other’s programs and start to put names and faces together.) During the event, we will provide a summary of the attendee responses and add a section to capture your specific action plan as it relates to the attendee.
We hope you will be able to join this interactive event!
Light appetizers will be provided. Cocktails are “Dutch treat.”
