How many years have you been in your role? One.

Describe your role at your company and how your work contributes to the success of the company?

In my role at Xcel Energy, I manage our sponsorships and volunteer efforts. Connecting our employees to nonprofit organizations supporting community needs helps strengthen the communities we serve which benefit us all.

What corporate volunteer best practices would you share with other CVC-TC members? Always be purposeful and thoughtful when engaging with your employees because each individual has a specific cause that inspires them to act.

How do you motivate your employees to volunteer? Each volunteer project has a purpose that positively impacts our community. Telling that impact story and why it is important will resonate with employees who want to support that specific cause and will feel empowered to get involved.

Why did you choose your current role or company? Working for Xcel Energy is very rewarding. The company supports its employees through Volunteer Paid Time Off, Dollars for Doing and Matching Gifts, so when we do volunteer or give, it has a larger impact.

Where is your favorite place to volunteer and why? I enjoy volunteering with local high schools and middle schools. It is rewarding to work with kids who are thinking about their future and helping them take steps to achieve those dreams.

What would you do if you had three wishes? I would make sure everyone had a home to live in, Everyone had healthy food to eat and wish for three more wishes.

What is your favorite place in the Twin Cities and why? Lake Harriet, because it is breathtaking and has so many fun things to do.
