The event will be held on Thursday, May 8 from 3:00-6:00 pm at the Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington. Join us as we celebrate our legacy and a year filled with meaningful connections, community building and volunteer impact in the Twin Cities. Guest speaker Jen Hellman, President and CEO of Goff Public, will discuss Inspiring Engagement Across Generations, exploring how different generations perceive, discover, and engage in volunteerism. Tickets: $35 members, $55 non-members. Visit the event website for more information and to register. Deadline is April 25.
Sponsor Opportunities
Member and non-member organizations are asked to consider a sponsorship to support the event and CVC-TC. CSR LEADER SURVEY – SHARE YOUR INFO AND WE’LL SHARE BACK!
|
Have you ever wondered what platforms other companies use to track their volunteer hours? What kind of policies they have about what counts or doesn’t count as a volunteer hour? Incentives they use to get team member to sign up to volunteer or lead volunteer projects? How they share stories about their impact to inspire others? HandsOn Twin Cities has launched this 10-minute survey in an effort to consolidate and aggregate this information so that you can learn from one another and gain key insights. This information will be most helpful if we have lots of participation, so please take a few moments and share your insights! If you have other information to share, please feel free to email Tracy Nielsen directly at [email protected].

Xcel Energy Volunteers Power Up Community Support at Second Harvest Heartland
|
In February, the Human Resources Team at Xcel Energy put good energy into action by volunteering at CVC associate member, Second Harvest Heartland. The team had a fantastic time assisting with sorting, labeling, weighing, and packing various food items to meet immediate needs and help feed our hungry neighbors. This effort is part of Xcel Energy's commitment to service, with employees receiving 40 hours of paid volunteer time off per year to give back to their local communities.

28 ECMC Group Polar Plunge Jumpers Support Special Olympics Minnesota
|
Twenty-eight ECMC Group volunteers braved the cold water to support Special Olympics Minnesota through the Polar Plunge! Each year, the Polar Plunge challenges thousands of brave jumpers at numerous locations around Minnesota to jump into a lake during the winter months. All funds raised go toward programming and events for more than 8,200 athletes statewide.
The event took place Friday, February 28 (water temperature was 33 degrees), at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis, where Team ECMC Group took to the lake and supported the cause!
This year, ECMC Group jumpers collectively raised nearly $9,000!

What a brave group of plungers!

Accenture in the Community
|
A group of Accenture employees participated in the StepUp Mock Interviews at the Convention Center. This is an annual volunteer event that Accenture looks forward to. It’s an amazing experience aimed at supporting hundreds of young people by boosting their confidence in their interview skills. Being involved with StepUp is a great way to provide our youth with the skills and guidance needed to help them reach their highest potential!

Best Prep Making a Big Difference, One Opportunity at a Time
|
It is often said that today’s children are tomorrow’s future, but how we envision that future all depends on the preparation we give our children today. For nearly 50 years, BestPrep has been investing in the lives of thousands of students, equipping them with the skills to create a beautiful tomorrow. During this school year (2024-25) alone, BestPrep’s Classroom Plus and Financial Matters programs have impacted 10,104 students, and the year is not over!
One of the ways we impact students via Classroom Plus is through mock interviews. Volunteers go into the classroom to interview students one-on-one and then give the students real-time feedback and evaluate their performance. In this way, students are provided with an interactive experience that allows them to grow their confidence for real interviews in the future. Furthermore, these opportunities are low time commitment, yet the time spent leaves a significant mark on students’ educational and, eventually, vocational growth.
Want to get involved? There are plenty of mock interviews to participate in this spring! Check out all of the opportunities here, and as always, thank you for serving with BestPrep by making a big difference in student lives, one opportunity at time.
