We know that hearing "pro bono" can be intimidating. We want to make sure you're set up for success in doing pro bono and skills-based volunteering - whether as a nonprofit or corporation - especially with Global Pro Bono Week (Oct 20-26) just around the corner.
HandsOn Twin Cities is rolling out a new Pro Bono Advisory Program for each of its stakeholders, helping their nonprofit partners develop a scope of work and recruit pro bono volunteers and their corporate partners to gain leadership buy-in and to tailor a pro bono program that aligns with their company values. For this special CVC event, we will share about the global pro bono landscape, the guiding principles of HOTC's Pro Bono Advisory Program, and help you get your pro bono feet wet by diving into the development of your very own scope of work.
Meet Our Speaker
Meg VanWagner, Director of Strategic Initiatives & Growth at HandsOn Twin Cities, is a leader in driving strategy, program design, scalability, and capacity-building for social change organizations.
As the Director of Strategic Initiatives & Growth at HandsOn Twin Cities, Meg heads up the design, implementation, and partnerships of HOTC's new pro bono programming. As the owner of her own social impact consulting practice, Rauth VanWagner Consulting, she works with nonprofits, mission-driven startups, and social entrepreneurs across the country. Local clients include Hack the Gap, Beta. MN/Twin Cities Startup Week, and HOTC.
As the founder of Impact Day, she designs cross-sector convenings and workshops between nonprofits and professionals to accelerate the organization's impact and provide opportunities for skills-based volunteering. In addition to her current work, she's led teams in corporate social responsibility at Salesforce.org and spent several years at the Taproot Foundation in San Francisco, most recently as the National Director of Program Delivery and Design, where she scaled and led the national program team across the Bay Area, Chicago, LA, NYC, and DC, and spearheaded the redesign of the flagship program to drive better outcomes for nonprofit clients, pro bono consultants, and national funders. Prior to Taproot, Meg has worked at several direct service nonprofits as well as in healthcare, hospitality, and legal support services in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Omaha, and Amsterdam, NL. When she's not changing the world, she's changing diapers at her most effortful yet most rewarding job as Mom.
