Members of CVC gathered on Friday, February 10, 2023, to volunteer at Second Harvest Heartland in Brooklyn Park.
The morning started off with networking, free coffee and donuts and in person conversation which was welcomed by all. The group then started their volunteer experience by learning more about hunger and the needs in MN. Did you know 1 in 11 kids don’t have regular access to the nutrition needed to thrive?
The CVC group helped label and repackage donated food items that could be on a neighbor’s table the next day! Julie Greene, CVC board member, also led the group on a tour of the 233,300 square foot warehouse and shared how Second Harvest Heartland distributed 113 million meals last year.
